Get Back Country

Earning Your Turns is Important

Earning Your Turns is Important

Highway 50 drops into South Lake Tahoe and opens up to some of the best scenery in the USA. Down, off to the right, on your way in the basin is Highway 88, going off to Kirkwood and some good tree skiing.

Waterhouse Peak is accessible on Highway 88. Park on the shoulder and put your skins on. I just did this with Todd Gillihan, local (loco) split-boarder and we realized some things. You don’t have to go here to have huge breakthroughs. Just hike up a hill with a good friend and share your thoughts.

Here they are:
There are few things in this world as important as friendships. Take care of them. They are all you’ve got.

We are going to change the world through adventures and bringing people together by giving and sharing our passions.

Stand by your spouse, no matter what.

Stay together. Get lost with friends but never alone.

A gut-busting cardio-high-altitude-blast gives you a better high than anything you can buy on the street.

Split-Boards are snowboards cut in half and are worth it if you like backcountry and are a knuckledragger.

Man Pat I can’t tell you how much I love the snow. I’ve got the twin tip Dominant Slick sitting in the closet right now and it needs to be broken out. She needs some love bro.

You wouldn’t happen to go snowboarding at Summit would you?

Matthew- I don’t know if your board is gay, but it really needs to come out of the closet. We just got more snow and you should be riding. The skate parks are wet anyway. I’ve never been there but I’d be into checking it out. Thanks!

Very informative text. I’ve found your site via Bing and I’m really glad about the information you provide in your articles. Btw your blogs layout is really messed up on the Chrome browser. Would be cool if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the great work!

Yeah man, a good adventure ski can get you thinking during the trek. Sitting waiting for a wave can do this also. Also, laying on the couch might inspire too come to think of it. Anyway, you make a good point about getting high on getting out. JW
