    How true is this advice having grown up in the UK I have always thought that our variety of sports here is well below what is on offer to US kids. We tend to focus on Football/Soccer, Rugby, Cricket and Swimming. In the states you are looking at all the above substituting rugby and cricket with American Football and Baseball along with Lacrosse, Softball, Ice Hockey, Basketball and even more. I agree the key point here is to keep the variety to develop different muscles whilst keeping you from finding your favorite sports mundane.

    Interesting, Richard. There are a lot of sports offered in the States. all the variety parlays into movements in other sports. I remember as a kid, not understanding what a coach was trying to get across and I finally understood what he meant years later when I was playing another sport and somehow the movement transferred and I was finally able to apply that to my soccer. Thanks for the thoughts!
