Your body can handle more than you think it can. Three soccer games in a day? What, even four? Well, 25 minute halves help a bit but 100 degree weather does not. Two teams: Bootie Pop and No Talent Clowns dominated the fields on Saturday the 24th of July in Truckee, CA. Despite the unusual names, their shots hit their targets during the annual adult soccer tournament. Bootie Pop won all three games. No Talent Clowns came up with Three wins and a tie. Here are huge tips to remember for an all-day soccer event:
1. Don’t drink heavily the night before. Oops! well lets think of four new tips.
2. Don’t drink beer during or between games. Oops! well lets continue to brainstorm… You will get quality tips after the video.
3. Hydration be prepared with a minimum of a gallon of water to kill throughout the day and pre-hydration in the morning.
4.Electrolytes. Water is not enough. Grapes, Bananas, Gatorade, Oranges. Your body loses more than water. Put it back or your legs will stop moving.
5. Don’t have a big lunch. It will kill the rest of your day and you will feel sluggish. Eat carbs and protein continually through the day with a moderate lunch and your energy level will sustain.
6. Let the ball do the work. If you just try and make runs all day and forget the give-and-go passing, you will burn out. You have to play smart and pass off. If you forget this, you will loose steam and lag later in the day.
7. Your body can handle more than you think it can. Push it but be prepared with hydration and nutrition.
8. Pass this on. Tweet and share on Facebook and join us next year. Awesome times!

Awesome day, great work out with greet people.. Thanks for including me:)

What a great weekend of soccer in a beautiful setting. For never playing together, I thought Bootie Pop played really well together and the results supported that. I had a great time playing with all of you. John…awesome job!
I’m definitely in for next year!
Great job to ALL that participated in the 19th annual Co-Ed 30+ Truckee Tournament (even the little one’s). We should do more of this, maybe travel to different places? Santa Cruz? We should play Co-Ed Beach soccer too, it is great workout (sun your bunz to). http://www.beachsoccer.us/
Pat, thank you for the web posting………
Bootie Pop ROCKS the house (the pitch)
Count me in for 2 anytime, Isaac………..
Hey Patrick,
Great tips that so many adults do not consider when in an all day tournament.
Make it a great day!

Thanks Edward. No kidding. People forget even if they are totally into playing sports.
So awesome to play with you! You control the midfield. Thanks for the killer teamwork strategies. Can’t wait to play with you again!
Dude, You stopped the attack from the other teams. We did dominate as a team, too. That was a load of fun. Thanks Mark!
That was so much fun! I hope you were rested for your games the next day. We have to do this again!
I just bet that was an awesome day of fun in the sun! Great tips for anyone playing hard on a hot day. I hadn’t thought so much about the fruit for the electrolytes – that was a great tip. Thanks for sharing.

Being the parent of athletic kids, I recognize lots of the tips. But I never think to use them myself when I’m active all day. Thanks for the great reminder, Pat.
