The road less-traveled is getting traffic these days. To keep pushing the envelope and getting out to the best powder stashes, we went of Highway 50 East of the famous, Lovers Leap. Just after the huge highway-switchback, you pass Camp Sacramento. Park on the right, before you get to Sierra-At Tahoe Ski Resort.
We skinned up to the best tree skiing in Nor Cal. You can’t get this at a resort- Even Homewood. On the neighboring peak, the wide run of Sierra Ski Ranch (sorry, I’ll never stop callin it that) looms, with the black ant-sized-people cascading down. We headed up to a new secret.
Life is like that. The best things in life are worth working for- fighting for.
Every time I go back-country skiing, I see at least one guy with a huge beard. Today I saw two. When there are three-guys and two have beards and one does not, its a “ZZ-Top day.”
We thought we were reaching the peak and were about relax. Upon reaching a plateau, we saw the real peak and there was a stand of old-growth-pines spaced out and majestic with acres of un-tracked love in the North-facing slope’s shade.
The average skier was to our left, at the resort, on the groomer.
If you are willing to fight for it, you can have the best in life. You can’t be average and on the groomers and expect greatness.
So, what are you fighting for right now? Have you written it down? Are you going after it?
Write what you are you fighting for in the comment section after you watch the flick.

Right on man, I love the snow so much. I’m about to shred the mountain this weekend. I can’t even wait to get up there and fight for the Bs 360 that I smashed my skull on last year. (woke up HELLA concussed halfway down the mountain, blood running down my face)
But that’s good times man, and I can’t wait to do it again…
Love the vid, Pat!
I love the idea of *the pow less-shredded*, though I’m not sure it’s so much of a “what are you willing to fight for?” as it is “what are you so passionate about that you are willing to do what it takes?”
Now I want to go grab my board and hit the slopes! *<:)
